Après Rasage

STAGE SHOW

choreographer

The Argentine Tango is associated with a number of myths and stereotypes: undying passion, desire, red roses between the teeth...
We are all surrounded by such stereotypes, and I try to observe them here through a slightly different lens, putting everything into an alternative context - full of rituals and gestures - in which things seem to appear either black or white.
But Après Rasage is about more than that. It is, in essence, about men, manliness, and masculinity - aspects of which may seem laughable, disconcerting or, perhaps, reassuring. The question is, why do we perceive them this way? …and, have lost the capacity to read between the lines?
Après Rasage was shortlisted for "best choreography" in the annual Operaplus.cz dance awards.

Commissioned by NDM Ballet, Ostrava.

Besame

STAGE SHOW

director
choreographer

Besame is a feature length production involving four dancers and a very large number of dolls. This surreal nightmare delves into the subconcious, touching on the darker aspects of 'be careful what you wish for'. Physical dance theatre with black humour and absurd undertones.

Production supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.

MULTI-DISCIPLINARY

director
choreographer

Year is a multi-media work exploring the memories of an ageing dancer. It was initially devised and presented as a live performance piece, with real-time video manipulation and image processing, devised in collaboration with the multi-media department, Electro-Technical Faculty CVUT, Prague.
It was presented in this live format at the Ponec Theatre, Prague; and at La Fabrika, Prague, with performer Ludvik Vidlak
Subsequently, the piece was remodelled as a purely digital artwork, in which form it was presented at The Bargehouse, on London’s South Bank, as part of “The Maze”.

Supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.

Dance with Me project

MULTI-DISCIPLINARY

creator

Dance With Me is an interdisciplinary public participation project that explores the intricate relationship between body language, movement, and non-verbal communication, with a particular focus on how these elements are perceived and interpreted across different age groups.
Initially conceived as an exploration of dissociation based on age, the project has since evolved into a broader investigation of how human movement communicates meaning, independent of verbal discourse, resulting in a series of short videos with the title “Dance With Me In What We Call The Future”.

The project was created together with VisualContainerBox, Milano; and funded by the Culture Moves Europe programme.
